I am having the exact same issue as is posted in
where I am trying to create a styled XML feed on my page using the XML Viewer web part.
When I add the XML viewer web part to the page and set the feed location url property to point to my generated feed everything renders out as expected.
However as soon as I try to set some XSL in the XSL editor I get the following error thrown
"Failed to apply XSLT to the content."
If I take my generated XML feed and copy in the XML that is generated without the DTD as suggested in the original question everything seems to work as required.
- I can get the web part to work with a generated feed with a DTD and no XSL.
- I can get the web part to work with static xml without a DTD and XSL
- I can't get the web part to work with a generated feed with a DTD and XSL.
Has anyone come across a solution to this that does not involve removing the DTD from the source XML feed?
