i've a sbs 2011 installation with sharepoint foundation 2010. I used the standards (no custom themes etc.). my problem: on win7 with ie9 or 10 the site shows without problems but when i open the sites on xp with ie7/8, internet explorer only shows the text (no pictures, buttons, colors etc.)

i thought ie7/8 are compatible to share point 2010, isn't so?

Check if your sharepoint site is added to trusted sites in IE settings. Most probably these are permission issues. – Marek K Mar 4 at 21:57
