This is probably quite simple, yet i'm struggling to come up with an answer.
List A: Requests List B: Approval Tasks
When a request is created a workflow starts that in step one "Collects an Approval" from another user.
This goes into a task list and is assigned to the correct user as expected. However the person receiving the Approval doesn't see a field showing the requested start and end date.
When "Collecting" from a user, there is no way to set additional fields in the task. I can do this after they have given a response, as I then have the ID of task. I need to set it before they approve, otherwise they don't know what they are approving.
I tried creating a second workflow, on the tasks list that sets the values of two fields within the task "Requested Start" and "Requested End" but I can't think of a way to automatically pass the Start and End dates into the Task workflow initiation values from the first workflow that is running on List A.
I hope that makes sense but if it needs clarification just let me know.
I'm working with SharePoint Foundation 2010.
EDIT: I tried running the Collection From User and an action to update the list item with the values in a Parallel block, but the Task did not get updated. I guess it either doesn't know the ID of the Task yet, or even though it's in a Parallel block it has to wait for the user to respond to the "Collect" action still.
