Few days ago a lot of users on my portal (SP 2010) in SiteUserInfoList have changed their account view to i:0#.w|< domain name>\< username>, like i:0#.w|domain\user. According to this article it means Claims-based authentication in web application instead of Classic mode (Windows).

Am i correct in my thoughts?

I would like to hear any suggestion how this happened because authentication type of web app wasn't changed by me (and not me too).

Update: possibly domain admins have changed domain authentication mode from NTLM to Kerberos and updated all hosts in LAN with GPO. – Sergey Feb 20 at 10:54
