We are working on the SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010 migration plan. We are testing our migration in our test environment. We have several site that has migration error 'Missing Site Definitions'. I saw your answer at MissingSiteDefinition >> How do I go by fixing this issue?
but I have a slightly different question.
A site needs a site definition. If I do not want to use the site definition that was in my SharePoint 2007 environment, can I proceed with migrating the content DBs to SharePoint 2010 and then replace the SharePoint 2007 site definition with a out of the box SharePoint site definition?
