SharePoint Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SharePoint enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

We have set up SSRS 2012 in SharePoint mode. The vast majority of our users only have read access to the reports, which works as expected. However they are unable to create subscriptions for the reports. After getting to the manage subscriptions page and clicking add it throws a permissions error.

The documentation I have found indicates that having read with the ability to create alerts should be sufficient for this (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb283186(v=sql.110).aspx#bkmk_tosharepoint_library) however I have found they need the edit items permission as well (which we do not want to give).

Has anyone found a solution for this?
