I have some folders on the document library with office location in it.

I created a page (list view webpart and current user filter) and used current user field property to match the folder name and view only the folder related to the that property. I matched the Name(Used for forms) to match with user property.

Now, when the user clicks on the folder, documents does not show... They were supposed to see all the documents that are inside the folder regardless of the name of the file.

I tried to use columns but the users do not want to use columns and want to use only the folder with list view. Everything has to be OOTB.

Thanks a lot.

What are you exactly trying to do? Showing only the relevant folder to relevant person..? and using Username as folder name? If that is the case, why don't you use List Item permissions to give permissions to user for their folder only? –  Arsalan Adam Khatri Nov 28 '12 at 16:46
The users from one location cannot view the documents from another location. I think I can go with breaking permissions by folder names... but I was looking for another approach if I can get something else working, like using a filter. I could use the filter to filter the folder, but if I click on folder, the documents does not show up. –  Thisisme.. Nov 28 '12 at 16:59
hmm, and you cannot have Location field in Doc Library? –  Arsalan Adam Khatri Nov 28 '12 at 17:09
