SharePoint Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SharePoint enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

When subscribed to a document library - and a document is uploaded - the subscribed user is successfully sent an e-mail including details of the uploaded document. But it's a custom content type and has metadata taxonomy fields - but they all appear empty in the e-mail despite being populated!?

EDIT: I think it may have something to do with: http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/a/32567/7904

If it has to do with sharepoint.stackexchange.com/a/32567/7904 then what does it take to get them populated in your notifications? Can you get data in them then run the alert, then repopulate those fields with other data and see that data when an alert based on an updated is triggered? The next test would be to figure out how to make sure there are data in those fields when the item is first created. – ghangas Nov 6 '12 at 16:28
