I am trying to send an alert via a Sharepoint Workflow that will send an email to “some” people on a Sharepoint list.
Here is the issue: I have experts in several subtopics such as Medicare Qualified Government Employment; Part A Premium Collections; Part B Enrollment (Initial, General, Special); Part D Premium Collections (Regional); Part B Premium Collections; Premium HI Enrollment/Premium Reduction; Resolution Medicare Entitlement Problems; State Buy-In (Regional); Terminations and Withdrawals; Variable SMI; Checks (RSI); Benefits (RSI); Overpayments/DMS; Statute of Limitations (RSI); Underpayments (RSI); Support, Dependency, Child-in-Care; End Stage Renal Disease; Equitable Relief - Medicare; Medicare Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA).
There can be several different experts with several different combinations of expertise sub topics.
I can make the workflow work the way I want it to by using a “contains” filter. This can easily get an email to me if I have a certain sub topic listed. Let’s say a customer fills out the form and puts in Medicare Qualified Government Employment as the Subtopic. I can get that email because I have that sub topic in my sub topic list. What I can’t do is send that email to multiple people at the same time with that same topic. If you had that subtopic and I have that same subtopic, I could hard-code our names in the workflow and get it to work. However, we can’t hard code those email names that in the workflow. I am thinking that this means that I would need to create a “dynamic distribution” list based on a variable in the workflow, and I am unsure how to do this. Unfortunately, I can’t have an email distribution list for every subtopic as we have over 150 of them. What I would need is to somehow make the experts a variable using a string maybe? And I’m not sure how to do this?
Any help would be appreciated.
