SharePoint Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SharePoint enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Previous consultants have created a separate layouts folder in order to apply application.master master page to the system pages. They copied everything from the original layouts folder to a new folder called "companynameLayouts". All of our custom site definitions as well as OOB live there. This has meant that migrating to SharePoint 2010 is now a nightmare. Using Content DB detach attach doesn't work because site definition mapping doesn't work. How can I go about fixing this mess?
