Hi Ram, I am not sure if I understood your sentence. Is it that you first exported the list into excel and while opening the excel file you are encountering the error? Or you first exported the list into excel and now when you are going back to access the list in sharepoint, you are experiencing the error? – spStacker Jul 11 '12 at 19:40

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. For help clarifying this question so that it can be reopened, see the FAQ.

Maybe it has to do with the actual data. SharePoint is extremely picky about the format of the data in the spreadsheet. Row 1 must be column titles, and the data must start at row 2. Try troubleshooting this issue by creating a very simple spreadsheet with just 2 or 3 columns and 2 or 3 rows. See if you still get the error, then you'll have a better idea where the problem lies.
