SharePoint Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SharePoint enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a requirement of refining search results on the basis of site columns of a Content type. I did lots of googling and I only could refine upto mine Content Type. But I need to refine it further on the basis of my site column which belongs to custom Content Type.

So is it possible in SharePoint 2010 to refine on the basis of all site columns of a Content type?

my requirement is that when I add a site column in content type , Refiners get updated and this new column dynamycally added in Refinement Panel.

If I add a Site Column in Refinement Panel it shows its values and i dont want that. I just want name of all site column of content type in Refinement panel so that i can further refine my search results.

Could you please tell if it is possible to refine on the basis of site columns present in content type not the values of site columns. For example if a user searches 10 and if it clicks siteusage(which is a site column) than user will get all listitem which has siteusage value equal to 10.

Thanks in advance.
