SharePoint Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SharePoint enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've wrote a simple script which will loop through all the webs in all the site collections store all the field id's into the hashtable next with their display names. Later interating throught lists i will retrieve the ID and compare if the display title is the same as of the other field from the web. This way i can distinguish if the fields are correct or not and modify if needed to have same display name (title).

So i wrote the script, but when i execute it, it runs for the first site collection and on the second site collection somewhere in middle i get an red message: An error has occurred that was not properly handled. Additional information is shown below. The Windows PowerShell process will exit.

After some seconds the error messages flashes very fast and the powershell window closes i cant see the error message.

But anyone has any idea? How to see that error message or maybe how to solve it?

Thanks in advance for the help.

This could be literally anything. Can you post the script that is failing? – Dave Wise Jun 21 '12 at 14:23
post you script before you're asked to be helped! – Geek Jun 22 '12 at 10:57
Add code or question will be closed – Anders Rask Jun 27 '12 at 11:25
Same request as the people above. Code please. I will ask this, are you just double clicking the powershell script to run it? If so, I would suggest using powerGUI or starting powershell then navigating to the script location and running it that way. This way you can capture the error message and show us. – John S Jul 10 '12 at 16:35
