I'm planning on localizing a large sharepoint site into different languages. There are over 1,000 pages in this sharepoint site. Is there a better way to localizing the content rather than creating a variation, copying the content into an external file, and pasting the translation back in?

This will be done using human translation and is Sharepoint Server 2007.

As far as I know its difficult to do it yourself by using SP features. You can take the services from the vendors like MotionPoint for translation – Amit Kumawat Jun 5 '12 at 14:24
