SharePoint 2010 Enterprise enviornment with very few modifications made to the site. We've been seeing some odd characters appearing when sending email from SharePoint see the example below. The messages are just alerts generated with HTML, no images or copy + pasting going on here either. It appears on every email being sent from the site. Some suggestions are the email is being composed with a non standard font. The default is verdana. Anyone seen this before? Example:

Title House Competition Food Drive

Body �??Please see attached.

Expires 30/03/2012

If you view the raw html of the Body, do you see any special characters? (i.e. anything starting with '&#') – Dave Wise Mar 21 '12 at 15:46

Correct - end users were copying and pasting email messages.
