This is very annoying, but as far as I can tell, it is only possible to set Entity level permissions through the Central Admin BCS user interface. Is there any webpart that has been open sourced that will allow method instances to have their permissions set?

@justforkix09 I do not know of any place where I can set a MethodInstance's permissions in Central Admin. Am I missing some part of the UI? – KyleM Mar 13 '12 at 0:07
Sorry misread the question. Have you tried downloading the bdcm file from Central admin, setting method instance permission in the file and then uploading it? – justforkix09 Mar 13 '12 at 6:13
@justforkix09 Yeah I know you can do that, it is what I recommended to my team. My team doesn't want to do that because it is "too difficult to maintain" so I was overruled, but I did make sure they know the security implications. If I had time, I would write my own interface... it's a shame the option doesn't seem to exist OOTB. – KyleM Apr 23 '12 at 6:58
