I have an event receiver, when i deploy it to the site(sitecollection) it works perfectly fine..but when i change its scope to web (website)

Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': 0x80070002 ..any suggestions?

May be on your particular web site list is missing, which is intended to used as source for the receiver? And also, if you see such errors (not very informative) in visual studio, try to find this error in logs, under `14\LOGS` - open most recent log file and try to find this error by some key words. In log file error will be more informative. – Kai Feb 15 at 8:12
