All documents in a sub folder in one of my Document Library has suddenly disappeared. It is such that there is no trace of it in Recycle Bin also. I created an Audit Log report also to see if anything has been modified/deleted etc but there is no information whatsoever in it.

Ironically, there is no such issue with other sub folders.

Is it possible to retrieve documents now or I have lost it?

Is it possible that someone changed the permissions on that sub folder or the items within in it to where you no longer have access? – Rob D'Oria Aug 9 '11 at 15:06

Or see if they are just checked out? In 2007, it is Document Library Settings -> Manage checked out files. – Kit Menke♦ Aug 9 '11 at 15:07
