The whole view went blank (I still have the ribbon though) whenever I select an item from a document library? Is SP getting weirder and weider? What could be the issue?

David - Have you looked at the dispform.aspx for that library? If you navigate to the editform.aspx for an item does the screen present properly? It is possible that someone modified the dispform.aspx (or whatever is the display/view item default). – Jason Jones Jul 13 '11 at 16:51
@Jason: Editform.aspx blank with ribbon, Could it be that the document library accepts attachmend from email? – David Mike Jul 13 '11 at 17:30
does this happen with a different library in the same site? Is the screen blank (where the items were) when you select a row. I am guessing that you are expecting the row to highlight with the applicable ribbon options enabled. Is there any custom CSS for this site? – Jason Jones Jul 13 '11 at 20:37
