In one of our implementations we are using the discussion board functionality as Comments to blog articles.Whenever a blog article is created, a discussion post is created.

There is a requirement that the blog owner can enable or disable commenting on individual blog posts. When disabled, we are thinking of setting item level permissions to read access for all users to the discussion post and its corresponding replies.

Can this be done? If can be done how can this be accomplished?

Thanks in advance
