SharePoint Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SharePoint enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've been tasked with adding a recaptcha field to our front-facing self service password reset page that is provided via FIM 2010 R2. I am not too familiar with ASP. I have added the recaptcha control, and it is successfully communicating with Google to pull in/refresh the image.

I am unsure of how to validate the recaptcha answer. Do I put the recaptcha validation code in the event handler for the submit button? Or do I add it to the validation for the whole page itself? Some other method?

Further, is this even a rational thing to do? I am wondering about warranty implications when we go in and start screwing with Microsoft's code.

Any info is appreciated.
